BIRTH OF A BRAND
A new family business
In 2008, Orla began collaborating with her brothers David and Mark. The three siblings established the Max Benjamin brand, named after Orla’s twin sons. Thus began a growing business with a solid heritage of know-how and a foundation of superior quality. Now the siblings run Max Benjamin as a family company dedicated to a single goal: To inspire everyone to create harmony and atmosphere with scented candles and diffusers of the highest premium quality.

Cologne Retro scented candle & diffuser
In the early 19th century, the Italian Johann Maria Farina created the perfume Eau de Cologne (“Water from Cologne” in French). The perfume became incredibly popular, and today it is one of the oldest scents still in production. Cologne Retro is inspired by Cologne and has notes of refreshing citrus, sweet orange blossoms, neroli, petitgrain, and musk.

In antiquity, the most sought-after scents came from Egypt and included geranium, jasmine and roses - the base notes of Or Egypt. The round, golden shapes represent the sun, and the gorgeous deep blue colour lapis lazuli symbolises joy. Or Egypt has top notes of grapefruit, sandalwood, musk and caramel.

Basilica scented candle & diffuser
In the 13th century, the Cosmatis were a family of architects who designed magnificent mosaic floors for cathedrals. The beautiful pattern on Basilica is inspired by the Cosmatis’ exquisite mosaics. Basilica’s vibrant colours and enchanting scent are evocative of the Italian coast, where the aromas of the salty sea and lush blossoms intermingle in the warm air. Basilica smells of aromatic incense and sweet flowers, with base notes of oak, leather and amber.p>
